A FIREWORKS display will light up the skies when it returns to Maldon next weekend.

The Maldon Annual Fireworks Display and bonfire night will take place at Promenade Park in Park Drive on November 3.

Organised by the Rotary Club of Maldon, the display will be provided by award winning display team Star Fireworks.

There will be music and entertainment while the bonfire is lit followed by the music and firework display.

Rotary chairman Ian Weller said: “We are pleased to be hosting yet another great firework event for Maldon in Promenade Park and we hope to see crowds of around 5,000 on the night.

“We are thrilled that both Chelmer FM and BBC Essex will be joining us on the night and supporting us in the run up.”

He added: “We aim to provide another memorable event with superb fireworks, set off to synchronised music.

“We hope the community will continue to support the event and enable us to both cover our costs and support Rotary charities.

“Following last year’s event, we distributed more than £5,000 which makes all the hard work surrounding the event very well worth it.”

The Winter Warmers Bar, located on top of the amphitheatre area, will be serving mulled wine, spiced cider and hot toddies.

Gates open from 5.30pm with live music starting at 6pm. The bonfire will be lit at 7pm and at 7.30pm, the fireworks will start.

Advanced tickets cost £6 for adults, £4 for under 15s, free for under fives and £18 for a family of two adults and two children.

Tickets on the door cost £1 more and family tickets are not available on the night

Advance tickets are available from the Maldon Tourist Information Centre in Wenlock Way; The Emporium in High Street; Tesco Fullbridge; Washington Newsagents in Washington; and the Tavern Garage in The Causeway, Heybridge.

The Rotary Club will also be selling tickets outside M&Co in High Street on Fridays and Saturdays between 9am and 2pm.
