A MUM of six is lacing up her running shoes to run two fundraising marathons just weeks apart.
Sandra Johnson, of Merivale Road, Lawford, is putting together a gruelling training schedule so she can run the Brighton Marathon followed by the London Marathon next April.
The 46-year-old is a self confessed fitness fanatic after reaching 21st and struggling to walk three years ago.
She managed to lose 10st and has taken part in half marathons for charity.
Sandra said she is running the two marathons next year for Whizz Kids - a charity which provides wheelchairs, buggies and trikes to disabled children to help them lead active childhoods.
“I love to challenge myself and see just what my body is capable of now,” she said.
“I’m working with a personal trainer, as well as running around 20 to 25 miles a week by myself and strength training in my local gym.”
She said she is raising money for Whizz Kids because her son Michael is disabled and feels the charity does a fantastic job.
“This will be my biggest challenge. I recently ran two half marathons three weeks apart and thought I was little bit crazy then.
“The thought of two marathons in two weeks does slightly terrify me, but I’m sure that with all the support I get from my family, friends, gym and trainer I’ll not only get round but have fun doing them.”
Sandra will be running the Brighton Marathon on April 14 and the London Marathon on April 28.
