RESIDENTS are being invited to turn over a new leaf for a public art project.

Harwich Festival is asking creative locals to make their own leaves which will form part of a vine for next year’s festival.

Michael Offord, of Harwich Festival, said: “We’ll be celebrating the beauty of nature in the shape of magical vines which will creep up out of the river and up around the lampposts on Ha’penny Pier.

“I’m hoping plenty of people will turn their hand to making a leaf or two to help me create this natural wonder.”

Templates and instructions on how to make these textile leaves will be available from the Harwich Festival box office in Harwich Library.

A free workshop is being held on Saturday, November 3 at 10.30am until noon in the library.
