MORE than 30 mums, dads and children are donning fancy dress and taking on a 5k charity inflatable obstacle course.

The team from Lawford Primary School got together after one of the pupils and two parents were diagnosed with type one diabetes.

Mum-of two-Emily Vandersteen said: β€œI have children in Year 2 and in reception and it is a pupil in the reception class that was recently diagnosed with type one diabetes. Two parents of children in reception have also been diagnosed.

β€œIt has brought about an understanding for the other parents and children of the challenges they face on a daily basis.”

The 32-strong team, which includes children from seven to 11 years old, will be wearing festive fancy dress for the event on December 1 in Ipswich.

Money raised will be split between the school PTA and the diabetes charity.
