An academy in Burnham's GCSE students are performing well above the national average.
The school league tables were released for key stage four pupils in 2018, showing Ormiston Rivers Academy to be the best performing secondary school in Maldon district.
The school's Progress Eight score, which is calculated by the Department For Education was above average compared to the rest of the county.
Around a third of the school's pupils achieved a grade five or above in English and Maths GCSE and almost all pupils are either remaining in education or have entered full employment since 2016.
Plume Academy in Maldon and William De Ferrers School in South Woodham Ferrers have also seen more than a third of its pupils receive grade five or above marks in English and Maths.
However, the South Woodham Ferrers school came just under the national average for the performance of children taking more than eight qualifications.
Plume Academy moved out from the below average grouping after significant improvements from 2017 to 2018.
Ormiston Rivers finished above the national average.
