THE cold weather didn’t put youngsters off getting outside and exploring nature in Bradfield.
Children from Bradfield Primary School donned their hats and gloves to take part in their regular forest school session aimed at building self-esteem, good mental health and well-being.
Headteacher Maria Luck-Davies said the school has dedicated area designed for the forest school sessions which is left to be a wildlife haven.
She said: “Forest School takes place every week at Bradfield Primary School, whatever the weather, and offers all children regular opportunities to take their learning into the outside environment.
“Activities include natural art activities, using tools, camp fire cooking, exploring nature, bug hunting, team games, story-telling, practical woodland skills, building dens, time to be quiet and reflect.
“Forest School teaches the children to have a respect for their environment and develop a relationship the natural world.
“It encourages them to take their learning out of school and share their experiences with their family and friends.”
