A GRATEFUL charity received a much-needed boost from supermarket shoppers.
Members of Home Start Harwich picked up a giant cheque for £200 this week after Asda chose the charity for its green token scheme.
The initiative sees shoppers given a green token each time they shop at the store and have a choice of several charities as to where to place it.
Asda tallies up the final green tokens and donates a specific amount of money to each cause.
A spokeswoman said they were very grateful for the donation.
Home-Start is a voluntary organisation offering practical and emotional support to families with children under 11 years helping to prevent family crisis.
