A WAITRESS will be serving up punches instead of dessert for a charity boxing match in aid of a cancer charity.

Natassja Guinsberg, 32, has signed up for the Ultra White Collar Boxing event at Colchester’s Atik nightclub on March 24.

The mum-of-two has never boxed before and has started a gruelling eight-week training schedule to get in prime condition for the match.

She hopes to raise as much cash as possible from her fight for Cancer Research UK.

Natassja, of Heath Road, Mistley, said: “I am doing eight weeks of training for my match with hideous workouts and cardio exercises.

“I am doing intense 30 minute workouts followed by breathing exercises and boxing techniques.”

The Mistley Thorn waitress is training at SD School of Martial Arts, in Colchester, with other contenders.

Harwich and Manningtree Standard:

She said: “I have never boxed before and never realised how tactical and technical the sport is.

“I am doing it for charity and to get myself fitter.

“Soon I will be learning to spar with other competitors and the thought of fighting them scares me.

“But I don’t want to lose a fight.”

Natassja lives with her two sons aged 13 and seven who she wants to make proud.

She added: “You have to learn to be prepared for a boxing match as we don’t know who we will be fighting in the ring until about a week before the match.

Harwich and Manningtree Standard:

“I have never done anything like this before and wanted to do it to challenge myself.

“The only time I have fought is when I used to fight my sister when we were children.

“So I feel a bit daunted by the fight itself.”

Natassja has set up a fundraising page which will be running until the day of the match.
