The crash, between a blue lorry and a cyclist, happened on the A120 St Nicholas roundabout, in Dovercourt, at around 2.45pm yesterday.
The cyclist, a man in his 30s, was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
An Essex Police spokesman said: "Officers are looking to locate the lorry driver, who did not stop following the collision and would like to speak to anyone who witnessed, or has dash cam footage, of the incident."
