A POPULAR vintage and collectables market is returning to a town for a third year running.

Manningtree’s Vintage Market is teaming up with the Manningtree Emporium for this year’s markets.

The Manningtree Vintage and Collectables Market market will be up and running again on the first Saturday of the month starting from May 4 and ending in September.

It will be held from 9am until 3pm.

The market is held in South Street and inside the Masonic Hall, opposite the Red Lion.

There will be an extra market on regatta day, on Sunday, July 21.

The market is run by a group of volunteers with the event staged and funded by the Manningtree Business Chamber.

Mel Winning, who started the market, said: “I have seen the difference the market has made to the town, with the Manningtree Emporium housing 40 dealers, Winyl a new exciting wine bar where you can sample vegan wines and beers while you browse an amazing collection of new and vintage vinyl and the Estuary Wine Bar, a hip new bar full of quirky reclaim that is bringing more young people into town.

“Market day is great fun so bring the family, visit the cafes’s pubs and restaurant, bring your dog who could be the winner of the Star of the Market competition.”

Mel was recently awarded the community engagement award by Manningtree Town Council for her efforts helping start up the vintage market.

She added: “The market has been a welcome boost to the town.

“So come and visit the Manningtree Vintage and Collectables Market.

“All are welcome in magical Manningtree by the River Stour.”
