YOUNGSTERS raised hundreds of pounds for a children’s hospice by holding a readathon.
Harwich and Dovercourt High School students Lachlan Johnson and Mikey Nixon helped raise £240.
The Year 7 and Year 8 students were sponsored per page, per chapter or per book for the Read for Good readathon.
Raymond Gallagher, assistant head teacher, said: “Reading is such a valuable skill and we are proud our students took the opportunity to use their enjoyment of reading to help others.
“The money raised will be used to provide mobile libraries to hospitals and visits from authors to cheer sick children up and put a smile on their face.”
