A COMMUNITY bus service has launched a new fortnightly shopping service for residents in Bradfield.
Six Bradfield residents have singed up to the new Manningtree and District Community Bus service which includes collection from and delivery back to passengers' homes as well as helping them get their shopping indoors.
A spokesman for the service said: "The service provides easy shopping access for Bradfield residents who may find getting out and about to the shops difficult.
"It doesn't matter what gender or how old people are - if anyone finds it difficult to get out to shop, the community bus service may be able to help."
He said the initial trips were a great success, with passengers enjoying the trip, shopping and each others' company.
Feedback has been very positive with passengers saying that the new service is a lifeline to them, helping them meet people and get out of the house, he added.
The shopping service still has capacity to take a few more passengers.
Currently, the service is restricted to Morrisons or Lidl in Dovercourt.
Passengers are collected around 1pm and get home at about 4pm.
If anyone is interested in becoming a member of our bus group and a regular user of the service, call Linda Warner on 01206 395757.
The service costs £2.50 for a return trip.
Prospective passengers will need to join the bus community which costs £1.
