A ROADSHOW hosted by a defence contractor, the RAF and the Royal Navy showed youngsters how modern technology connects the World.

The Year Seven pupils at Manningtree High School took part in demonstrations and problem solving games.

The show, titled ‘Are We Connected?’, focused on communications and data in modern society.

A spokesman said: “It covered areas such as how mobile phones connect people around the World, how computers talk to each other and how we talk to our devices, for example via Bluetooth.

“Students were introduced to the real life application of some of the most recent communication technologies within BAE Systems, the RAF and the Royal Navy.

“Students were invited to participate in some of the demonstrations and problem-solving games as we aim to demystify the subject and help embed learning that they will encounter in school.

“This was a fun and interactive performance and enjoyed by all of Year Seven.”
