CURIOUS youngsters were introduced to a range of creepy crawlies as part of a reptile encounters day.
Dovercourt Skating Rink, in Lower Marine Parade, held a reptile encounters day for children enjoying their Easter break on Tuesday.
About 70 youngsters came to the event to see, hold and touch a variety of creatures such as snakes, toads and tarantulas.
Chris Scutt, who runs Dovercourt Skating Rink, said the reptile event was a success.
He said: "It went really well and, all the animals were well behaved.
"We had a wide range of people getting involved from toddlers to grandparents learning all about the reptiles on show.
"The albino Burmese python must have been the favourite creature closely followed by a chameleon.
"Everyone enjoyed it so much we have arranged for the event to be held again in May."
