IT’S Easter weekend - and the time to indulge in chocolate eggs, bunnies and sweet treats.

Ramsey and Manningtree are hosting two Easter events for residents to enjoy and celebrate the weekend.

Ramsey is hosting its annual Easter treasure hunt with bouncy castles.

The hunt, organised by Ramsey War Memorial Hall, is taking place today.

For £5, children can take part in a treasure hunt to win a chocolate egg.

There will also be other games to try to win more chocolate or sweets and a special area for under-fives, as well as an Easter bonnet competition.

The event is running from 2pm to 4pm, with unlimited use of bouncy castles, at the recreation ground in Wix Road, Ramsey.

Money raised will go towards the memorial hall and recreation ground.

Then, tommorrow the owners of Winyl have organised an Easter egg hunt for Manningtree’s youngsters.

It will be the first egg hunt the town has seen in two years.

Whilmari Swift and her partner, Steve Tattam, who run Winyl, in South Street, are behind the hunt and have got about 30 local businesses involved.

The hunt will see children pick up a map from Winyl, solve 15 riddles, get a stamp for each solved riddle and pick up an Easter egg from the Wholefood Store.

The event is free for residents and is being funded by traders from the Manningtree Business Chamber.

Whilmari, 40, said: “It will hopefully highlight what a lot we have in the town and help new residents discover places they might not have gone into otherwise.”

Winyl will be giving out maps and riddle sheets tomorrow from 11am.

Tickets for the Ramsey event are available from eventbrite.co.uk by searching for Ramsey War Memorial Hall.
