HUNDREDS of runners descended on the streets of Manningtree, Mistley and Lawford for the return of the Witchfinder Trail.
A total of 252 runners and walkers, along with 15 dogs stepped out for the 5km and 10km trail around the area on Sunday.
For the event runners went through spots made famous by the infamous Witchfinder General Matthew Hopkins.
Money raised from the event is going towards Acorn Village, in Mistley.
Kate Williams, of Acorn Village, said: “It was a really wonderful day for all, we are so grateful to everyone who supported and sponsored it.
“Both young and old, as well as four-legged enjoyed running around the historic sights.”
