RESIDENTS are being warned of scam callers suspected to be distraction burglars.
Essex Trading Standards posted on Facebook to warn people in Harwich about doorstep callers claiming to be from energy provider EON.
The post said: "There are reports of bogus callers in Harwich purporting to be from EON.
"This has been confirmed as a scam and is likely to be linked to distraction burglary.
"Keep your homes secure and be sure at the door.
"Report suspicious activities on 101 or 03454 040506."
