A DETERMINED wrestling promoter took his show to London for the first time as his audiences continue to grow.

Mark Young, the founder of the Wrestling League, brought his brand of wrestlers from the Kingsway Hall in Harwich to the Resistance Gallery in London last Friday for a wrestling show.

Mark, began promoting in 2014 when Wrestling League was formed with his friend and current professional wrestler Marty Scurll.

Their first show debuted in November that year with multiple international stars taking part.

He started with a plan of four to five shows per year, but now puts on shows for Harwich wrestling fans every month.

Mark said: “I wanted quality wrestling to come to Harwich. What helped us break out was the mix of homegrown stars alongside bigger international wrestlers.

“The biggest praise of Wrestling League is generally our storytelling with every show linking like a good soap opera, our shows feel unmissable once you are hooked.

“Friday in London was definitely a career highlight. Relationship with the fans is essential, and even in London we had a healthy presence of fans from Harwich and the local area.”

Mark Young has big plans for Wrestling League, which include hosting regular shows in the capital and even expanding into America.

“Next year we have our first USA show in Tampa Bay, which will be very special.”
