A NUMBER of free events will take place to help people learn new digital skills.

Colchester Council’s digital experts are hosting a series of free community and digital fayres in partnership with Tendring Council and the North East Essex Clinical Commissioning Group.

The events will offer training in a range of digital skills with a Google digital skills trainer, as well as information about wellbeing services.

There will also be information and advice on employment, public services and independent living.

In Harwich the event will run from 10am to 3pm on Wednesday, May 29 at the Park Pavilion.

Corporate director of Tendring Council Paul Price said: “Whilst many people are now digitally connected, there are still many in the community who are not digitally confident or struggle to gain access.

“It is vital skills and confidence are enhanced right across our communities, so no one is excluded from managing their lives on line and accessing the huge benefits which come from connecting with all digital services.

“These free events are a great opportunity for communities to learn what they can do online and develop their skills in a safe and supportive environment.”

Sessions with the Google digital skills trainer must be booked in advance.
