It is unacceptable for any Colchester councillor to write letters making personal attacks on members of the public and other councillors.

A high standard is expected from those elected to represent the community.

I respect Councillor Dave Harris who has never indulged in this offensive behaviour but instead works hard to improve the area he represents.

He makes effective use of publicity to motivate residents to join him in this work.

It has been very disappointing to see Colchester Council showing such a lack of morality and poor financial management.

I could raise several issues solely the responsibility of Colchester Council but at the moment I would highlight the long abandoned Spring Lane nursery.

For decades this land has been abandoned and Colchester Council has repeatedly refused to lease it so it could grow flowering plants for public areas.

I would like to see Spring Lane nursery leased or sold to Colchester in Bloom.

The land is protected from development and has little value as it floods every winter.

This would not affect use of greenhouses to grow plants to commercial size.

At the moment I put plants out half size because I do not have the space to grow them on.

As this area is isolated it would be less likely to suffer from the vandalism experienced in the High Woods Country Park Big Garden.
