SEARCH and rescue dogs gave a club a live demonstration of their work.
The Harwich and Dovercourt Inner Wheel were visited by Terry Jewell and Graham Currie from Essex County Fire and Rescue Service, along with four of their service dogs.
The fire and rescue service explained the dogs are trained to attend fires and traffic collisions, provide emergency response to hazardous materials and conduct rescue searches from collapsed buildings and enclosed spaces.
Member Kath Felgate said: “We had a demonstration outside where substances were put down on the pavement and the young dog taking orders to find them. It was great to see.”
