TIME is fast running out to get your nominations in for this year’s prestigious Tendring Blue Ribbon Awards.

The final day to put forward those who you feel are deserving of recognition for achieving something special is July 12.

There are 14 categories up for grabs – which are sponsored by last year’s winners – as well as the coveted Judges’ Award for the overall winner.

The independent panel of judges will then get down to work to pick out the successful firms, organisations or individuals who will be honoured at a glittering ceremony at Clacton’s Princes Theatre on October 3.

Organisers TC Group, Barclays and Tendring Council are putting on the event for the fourth year and it has gone from strength to strength.

The ceremony in October will include top live entertainment for the 320-plus attendees and guests while they wait to discover who will walk off with the accolades on the night.

George Keiffer, chairman of the judges, said it is an occasion to celebrate all that is good in the Tendring business sector – both large and small.

“This really is a time for highlighting what Tendring has to offer – and there is plenty, as we have found out over the past three years,” he said.

“Make sure that your company – or a company you know – is in the hat to be considered. It would be great to give the judges an even harder task this time around.”

The rest of the independent judges’ panel is made up of Lynda Chase-Gardener, Andy Scott and MPs Sir Bernard Jenkin and Giles Watling.

The evening will be hosted once again by presenter Dom Atkins.

Christine Brown, from TC Group, said: “The awards are open to all businesses across the whole of Tendring and we would love to see some new firms getting involved.

“Let’s really celebrate and promote our success stories.”

Clacton Pier director Billy Ball said the pier was not involved the first year but signed up in 2017 and 2018.

“Once we realised what a fantastic initiative the awards are, we quickly got on board,” he added.

“The ceremony itself is also a great night to meet other businessmen and women and make new contacts.”
