Police are investigation an assault after a boy was attacked in a school playground.
A furious mother says her 11-year-old son had been in the playground at Hilltop School in Wickford.
She says his head was hit against the concrete floor by another youngster.
She said the boy was rushed straight to Basildon Hospital where he was diagnosed with concussion.
A spokesperson for Essex Police said: "We received reports a boy was assaulted in Hill Avenue, Wickford, on Monday, June 24 and enquiries are ongoing."
A spokesperson for Hilltop Junior School said: "School leaders were made aware of an incident between two boys playing together at lunchtime as soon as it happened.
"Staff intervened immediately and it was dealt with under the schools behaviour policy. Both parents were informed immediately and the matter has been resolved."
