A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of attempted rape.
Police were alerted to a report of a sexual assault against a woman at an address in Castle Square, Brighton, this morning.
A 34-year-old man from Hove was arrested in the area shortly afterwards.
He remains in custody at this stage.
Officers investigating the incident have visited several shops on St James's Street to make inquiries.
Sussex Police say this is unrelated to a suspected sexual assault report near the Royal Pavilion, Brighton, at about 5.15am on Wednesday. Officers said after a thorough investigation, no crime was committed and this matter from Wednesday is closed.
