TRIBUTES have been paid to a "wonderful mum" who died in a crash.
Maureen Hampson, 86, died in the crash near Belhus Wood Country Park in Aveley on June 3.
Ms Hampson's grey Ford Focus, which she was driving, was involved in the crash alongside a white Ford Transit van at around 3.25pm.
She was taken to hospital with serious injuries following the incident and sadly passed away on July 17.
A man in his 80s, who was a passenger in the Focus, remains in hospital, having suffered serious injuries. He is expected to return home over the coming weeks.
Paying tribute to Mrs Hampson, her family said: "We are very sad to announce the death of Maureen, a lovely wife and a wonderful mum. She died peacefully at Queen’s in Romford.
"We are grateful to the NHS and all the services who have supported Mum since the collision, and continue to support Dad.
"We send our best wishes to the driver of the transit, who was also injured, and hope that he has made a full recovery.”
No arrests have been made in connection with the incident and the police investigation is ongoing.
Anyone with information should call the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 101 and quote incident 698 of June 3 or Crimestoppers anonymously 0800 555 111.
