VOLUNTEERS from the Friends of Westbrook Community Orchard group have come together to tidy up an overgrown Westbrook beauty spot.

The team headed to Ladywood Pond armed with secateurs and litter pickers in an effort to make the area more appealing to those who visit it.

And they certainly made a big difference by turning what was an eyesore into a tranquil place for people to enjoy.

As well as cutting back the overgrown vegetation, the group also painted and repaired the wooden bridge.

Organisers wanted to pay tribute to the many volunteers who put in a ‘tremendous’ effort to tidy up the pond.

Volunteers added that it is great to now know that they can now walk along the path towards Asda without having to dodge brambles along the way.
