FOOTBALLERS of all ages took part in a fun day to raise money for Little Oakley’s youth team.

Andy Perrin organised the Walking Football Fun Day at the Little Oakley Memorial Club.

More than £300 was raised to help buy a new kit for the youth team.

Several teams competed with players’ ages ranging from ten to 70, and a cup was presented to the winning team.

A spokesman for the event said: “A great day was had by all who took part.”

Little Oakley Football Club is set to launch a full time football academy for 16 to 19-year-olds starting this season.

The club also aims to introduce a ladies’ walking football team in October as an option for older members of the community after previously introducing walking football to the Harwich area for the over-50s during 2016.
