A THIEF who stole tools from B&Q must undertake 100 hours of unpaid work.

Daren Nole, 41, took a pair of dehumidifiers and a drill from the store in Lightship Way, Colchester.

He admitted theft at Colchester Magistrates' Court as well as damaging the store's fire door driving without due care, failing to stop, and without a licence or insurance.

All the offences were on the same day.

Matthew Bovis was caught by police in Volkswagen Polo in Birch Road, Layer, with six times the legal limit of delta-9-tetrahydrocannobinol in his blood in April.

The 27-year-old, of Rockinghams Farm, Layer Marney, admitted drug driving at Colchester Magistrates' Court.

He was fined £160 and must pay £135 in other court charges.
