Well said Gill Scarlett (Standard Letters, October 25, “Sooner we get out of EU, the better”) and shame on you Mr Michaels (Standard Letters, October 25, “Brexit would not take away freedom”.
“Democratic vote once in a life time”, I believe Mr Cameron said.
I have only one thing to say to you Mr Michaels, to the tune of Dad’s Army: “Who do you think you are Mr Michaels, why do you hate us so.”
Hate for your country, and hate for its laws. Contempt for the young men who gave us their all, gave their tomorrow so we could have today.
Not so that you could just give it away.
I understand that India, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, all the commonwealth countries that we gave up trading with when we joined the then common market, are willing to trade with us again.
It may take a while to get established and we might have to tighten our belts.
Is this such a bad thing? I was a child brought up in the war, we had rationing, no obesity, so come on Mr Michaels stop whingeing because you lost the vote, act like a man, pull your trousers up, shoulders back, go fight for our rights, and make our country great again.
