KEEN primary school pupils have been busy baking for Macmillan Cancer Support to help raise vital funds for people living with cancer in the area.
Two Village Primary School’s council decided to support Macmillan and raised more than £450 for the charity after a vote amongst the committee to support the organisation.
The school, in Ramsey, held the event on October 25.
Family members were invited to join in to support their children in their fundraising efforts for a morning cake and conversation.
Natasha Bennett, headteacher, said: “The pupils have worked so hard on this initiative and I would like to thank everyone who supported this fundraising event.
“There was a great atmosphere in school and everyone really enjoyed themselves.”
Alex Howe, Macmillan fundraising manager for the East of England, said: “Thank you to everyone at the school for choosing to support Macmillan.
“This amount of money could help fund one of our Macmillan nurses for over two days, so we are so very grateful.
“Sadly, we are only there for one in four people, however our ambition is to be there for everyone.
“The generous support from schools like Two Village will help Macmillan to one day achieve this.”
With people’s help, Macmillan is able to invest in support services and information, specialist health and social care posts.
