THREE caring volunteers cleared the streets of Little Oakley and collected seven bin bags full of rubbish last weekend.
The football ground in Little Oakley, the field next to Rectory Road and Clacton Road were cleared of rubbish.
Paths around Two Village Primary School, in Mayes Lane, Ramsey were also cleared.
The group was set up a year ago by Catherine Cocker, 43, of Harwich Road, Great Oakley, who said: “I was fed up with the amount of litter in our village and after a few months I was approached by a few Little Oakley residents also concerned about the litter in their village.
“Generally, we get between five and ten volunteers and any waste collected is picked up by the council the next working day.”
On average they collect between five and 13 bin bags consisting of drinks bottles, fast food packaging, baby wipes and cigarette buts at each litter pick.
