COUNCILS in north Essex have announced their economic strategy for the next 20 years

Covering Colchester, Braintree, Tendring and Uttlesford, the North Essex Economic Strategy aims to shape the area’s economic development from 2020 until 2040.

The plan takes into account the predicted population growth of the year, which is set to increase by roughly 139,000 through to 2045.

The strategy aims to deliver a “high-value, productive and sustainable economy” where “people choose to live and work locally, in new established communities”.

Over the next few weeks the strategy will be discussed at full council meetings at the five councils. If agreed, an action plan will be developed to deliver the vision.
