FOOTBALL KIT: Youngsters at Parkeston Welfare FC under-14s team are celebrating a £250 Team Sport grant from UK Power Networks
YOUNGSTERS from a football team are celebrating after being kitted out for the remainder of the season.
The Under-14s boy’s team at Parkeston Welfare FC has been given a £250 grant from UK Power Networks, as part of their Team Sports Award scheme.
Ben Heard, the team’s coach applied for the grant.
Mr Heard said: “All the money we have is fundraised by ourselves, so I was excited to hear about this grant from my company and to receive the money is a fantastic result.
“We are a reasonably new team still, but we’ve come a long way.
“In our first two seasons we were bottom of the league, but we are getting on much better with our results this season putting us second in the league.”
