A PRIMARY school has announced the arrival of a mascot to promote and strive towards improving overall class attendance.
Harwich Community Primary School, in Barrack Lane, Harwich, has launched ‘Attendance Ted’.
This means children will go to see him in the assembly every Monday, where Attendance Ted will be handing over a small mascot version of himself to the winning class.
Gillian Day, attendance and welfare officer, said: “The children get very excited to see who the winning class is along with seeing the big ‘Attendance Ted’ in assembly every Monday.
“We will continue to work towards maintaining our good attendance.”
