A MAN has been arrested for possession of a knife - and a “tactical hammer” was found.
Officers from Harwich’s Local Policing Team conducted an area in search last Saturday in daylight following a disturbance in Dovercourt last Friday night.
During the search a man was arrested for possession of a knife.
An Essex Police spokesman said: “We believe this to be an isolated incident concerning a certain group of people.”
Officers also found a ‘tactical hammer’ in the area on Saturday.
A ‘tactical hammer’ is a combination of a hammer and an axe with spikes on its head.
It is often used as an outdoor tool in woodland areas.
The spokesman added: “A quick Google and the weapon pictured is described as a ‘tactical hammer’ and has been sent for destruction.
“That is unless the owner would like to come and talk about his ambition to be Thor.”
