THE Mayflower-themed Illuminate Festival will see hundreds of people coming to Harwich this weekend, so it is important spectators know how to get there.
The festival, which will be held in The Quay, Harwich, will take place tonight between 5pm and 9.30pm, and tomorrow, between 3.30pm and 9.30pm.
Visitors can drive to Harwich as several car parks will be free of charge. The Trinity House car park, in The Quay, CO12 3JW will open from 6pm and it is just a three minute walk to the festival.
People will be able to park in Harwich Green, CO12 3NL, from where they will need to walk 14 minutes to the quay.
The Harwich Mayflower Heritage Centre, in George Street, CO12 3ND, will also accommodate cars for free and it is only an eight minute walk away.
Milton Road Car Park, in Bagshaw Road, CO12 3LA, will run for free during the duration of the festival too.
But, if visitors wish to park their cars there, they will have to walk 20 minutes to get to the quay.
The Harwich Harbour Ferry will be running between 3.30pm and 10.30pm on on both nights between 2.30pm and 10.30pm.
There will be ferry services between Harwich, Shotley and Felixstowe.
Tickets cost £5 one way, and people can pay on board.
Children under 12 months travel for free.
Alternatively, visitors can travel by train from Colchester, Ipswich, Manningtree and surrounding areas to Harwich Town Station.
