FATHER Christmas proudly led the 50th anniversary Christmas parade through the streets of Broadstone today.
Hundreds of people donned festive costumes to take part in the annual tradition, kicking Christmas off in style.
Many organisations were involved including Scouts, Brownies, Guides and schools.
Following the parade, Father Christmas took his place in his grotto in front of the Methodist Church where he collected presents from children to give to the Ted Webster Children's Centre.
Over the last 50 years Broadstone residents have donated thousands of presents to children who otherwise may not have any presents at all.
There were also mince pies and a free screening of Arthur Christmas in the church.
Event Controller Amanda Bursey said: "Broadstone is a great place to live and visit and this 50-year-old tradition shows what a great community spirit we have."
