A SPECIAL award has been presented to a “one-woman force for good” for organising numerous community events.
Manningtree mayor Ruth Stocks presented the town council’s community engagement award shield to Lynne Robinson (above) for arranging the Fun at Manningtree Beach sessions during the summer months.
Lynne also organised the Halloween writing competition and story-telling session.
Lynne, 62, of High Street, Manningtree, said: “It was absolutely marvellous, I didn’t even know this award existed so it was a big surprise to be awarded with it.”
The award was also given to campaigners who had helped to save Manningtree’s library from closure.
Holly Turner, from Save Manningtree Library, said: “The whole group was happy to receive this award. “
