A SOCIETY’S quiz team has organised to run a quiz to raise money for a charity.

The Harwich Society runs monthly quiz nights at the Royal Oak pub in Dovercourt to raise funds for the society.

The new year got off to a great start raising £192 at this month’s event.

However, the team runs numerous music quizzes and general knowledge quiz nights for other good causes.

The first of these will be a general knowledge quiz in aid of St Helena Hospice which will be held on January 27.

Quiz master Colin Perry said: “We have a loyal following for our quiz nights and we like to think we offer a good quiz with a lot of laughs at the same time.

“It is also nice to be able to support some important local causes and St Helena Hospice is a good example of such a cause.”

The quiz will start at 8pm and is for teams of up to eight people at £2 per person including non members.

“We still find people who think the Harwich Society quiz nights are for Harwich Society members only, but this is definitely not the case,” continued Mr Perry.

Mr Perry added: “Everyone is welcome and it is always nice to see a new team join the fun and help us to support both the Harwich Society and other important causes.”

Any donations of raffle prizes will also be appreciated to boost funds.
