A CAR burst into flames on Victoria Road in Bolton last night.
Shortly before 8pm last night, fire crews were called out to the incident in the Markland Hill area.
Crews remained on the scene for around half an hour while making it safe.
Sally Leyland, who was driving near the area, said: "I could see flames on the corner at the other side of Beaumont Rd and more flames in the road as well as blue flashing lights.
"Looked like a car had come down Victoria Rd and gone straight across into the corner but couldn't really see from where I was.
A nearby resident, Gill Atkinson, said that the area was a hotspot for crashes and she had seen and heard of "lots of near misses."
A Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue spokesperson said: "At 19.44 on Monday 27th January we were called to a road traffic incident on Victoria Road in Bolton.
"One pump from Bolton attended the scene and was detained at the scene for 30 minutes making it safe."
