YOUNGSTERS were treated to an inspiring gymnastics talk and demonstration from Olympian Natalie Davies.

The former Great British gymnast visited Two Village Primary School for a sponsored whole school fitness circuit event last week.

The master gymnast visited the school in Mayes Lane, Ramsey, on behalf of the charity Sports for Champions UK for the fitness event, raising money for the school's PE fund and the charities aspiring olympians.

Natalie represented Team GB on the world stage in the Los Angeles Olympics in 1984 and was proudly able to demonstrate a few moves like straddle levers and splits at the age of 53.

Pupils were then supported to try out forward rolls, cartwheels and handstands.

Two teachers then took centre stage to perform a forward roll and double cartwheel in front of students.

PE leader and class teacher Aarron Cornell said: "This was a highly exciting event for Two Village.

"The children were in awe watching Natalie on a YouTube clip where she performed a double somersault and a full twisting somersault, without the modern sprung floor.

"Many of the girls have already me that they are planning on starting a gymnastics club.

"It is great to see how inspired they feel to have a go and to see where this adventurous spectator sport may take them."

Natalie gave an informative talk about the importance of trying something out of your comfort zone and about the importance of healthy eating in sport.

He added: "Her experience and vitality have certainly left a lasting impact on the next generation at Two Village."
