COLCHESTER Phoenix Amateur Swimming Club held their annual meeting and awards ceremony at Leisure World.
Newly-appointed chairman Theresa Higgins was delighted to be present at Saturday's event.
She said: "My thanks go to all the committee members, volunteers, coaches, teachers and parents who help the young people achieve their best potential.
"Also, I would like to thank the Mayor, Cllr Nick Cope, for presenting the awards."
The club boast world, European and Para-sport record holders and the following were presented with awards:
Teaching section: Ritwik Pain - Young Volunteer of the Year; Emma Servantes - Beginner Section Award; Beau Sales and Dougie Job - joint-winners of the Improver Section Award; Roxi Aldrich - Endeavour Award; Bethany Payne - Triumph Over Adversity Award.
Squad section: Vanessa Roberts - Commitment Award; Bailey Solder - Endeavour Award; Todd Grimshaw - Special Merit Award; Chloe Scott - Achievement Award; Holly Bocking - Bill Finn Best Female Swimmer; Mark Holmes - Bill Finn Best Male Swimmer; Ellie Challis - Award of Excellence.
