THANKFUL residents have sent “heartfelt birthday wishes” to a parish council’s chairman.

Rob Passmore, who is the Ramsey and Parkeston Parish Council chairman, the chair of the Ramsey War Memorial Hall and Recreation Ground group and manages Ramsey and Mistley Football Club, has celebrated his 55th birthday.

Trustees from the Ramsey War Memorial Hall and Recreation Ground sent him warm birthday wishes.

A spokesman said: “His community dedication is wonderful. He works tirelessly and has also found time to volunteer during the pandemic.

“I know he doesn’t do any of what he does for thanks or praise – he does it out genuine care for his community.

“But he deserves to be thanked for his hard work and continued dedication.

“Birthday wishes go out to him from the community he serves.”

Trustees invited the Wash Your Hands Brass Band to perform for him and to mark the special day.

“We hope you enjoyed your birthday band,” they said.

“It was just a little way of thanking you for everything you do.

Mr Passmore celebrated his birthday last Tuesday.
