AN ambitious youngster has completed a 3,560ft climb up the top of Snowdon for charity.
Bobby Scarlett, aged nine, decided to push his legs to the limit by walking up and down the tallest mountain in Wales with his mum.
Bobby, who attends Highfields Primary School, in Lawford, and his mum Natassja Guinsberg, 34, trained for weeks on end before they both tackled the climb together on Saturday.
In preparation for the climb the duo cycled and ran together to increase their fitnesses levels.
The pair, who live in Mistley, managed to raise £270 for Little Troopers - a charity supporting children with parents in the British Armed Forces.
Natassja said: “On the day of the challenge we walked for 17 miles, which was a long way, especially when you are walking up a mountain.
“Bobby found the descent a little bit tough as it was a long journey and steep climb.
“We took little breaks and when we got to the top it was very windy and cloudy.
“We were exhausted when we finished the challenge, but I am so proud of him.”
Natassja said they had originally booked in for five mother and son runs this year they were cancelled.
“We were over the moon to do this instead,” she added.
