A YOUNG man died when his car left the road and crashed into a wall.

The 21-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene following the collision in Crowborough on Saturday evening.

Two passengers were also hurt in the incident.

The silver Ford Fiesta involved in the crash was travelling east along the B2100 Rotherfield at 6.30pm when it left the road and smashed into a nearby wall.

The 21-year-old driver died at the scene while a 21-year-old man who was also in the car suffered a leg injury and was taken to hospital.

A third passenger, a 20-year-old man, sustained minor injuries.

Police closed the road for several hours following the crash as emergency services carried out recovery and accident investigation work.

PC Ian Foxton said: “Tragically, a young man has died in this collision and our thoughts are with his family and friends.

“We are keen to hear from anyone who saw the Ford Fiesta being driven prior to the collision and from anyone who may have dash cam or CCTV footage in the area of the incident.

“We are also aware that there was a dark coloured Land Rover that was seen in the area just prior to the collision and we would be keen to speak to the occupants of this vehicle who may have witnessed the events leading up to the collision.”
