A map based on localised Government figures has revealed which specific areas in south east London are the worst affected by coronavirus.

A tool based on Public Health Figures has revealed the specific areas in south east London which are the worst affected by coronavirus.

As reported on Thursday, infection rates are currently rising across the borough, with spikes in Bromley and Greenwich, and Bexley reporting the second highest Covid-19 rate in London (full list below of local area by local area).

And the map represents this locally, with Bexley containing the majority of Covid-19 hotspots in the south east of London with Crayford, St Michael's and Blackfen the three areas with infection rates above 400.

These areas find themselves well above the national average, whilst areas in central Greenwich and Lewisham offer some of the lowest infection rates in the region, with Blackheath the lowest.

The map highlights the current Covid-19 hotspots in the region, colour coding them based on the number of cases and virus infection rates, expressed as new cases per 100,000 population.

The map can display weekly data from March when the pandemic began, and currently displays the latest data for the week leading up to November 16.

Using the weekly data released by PHE, based on pillar 1 and pillar 2 testing data, the tool reveals the rate of infection in each area and where positive cases have been confirmed in recent days.

Here are the hotspot areas, where infection rates are over 250 per 100,000, listed from highest to lowest (infection rate, then cases, then the difference based on the previous week):
