A SEAFRONT road is scheduled to be closed for at least three days while engineers carry out carriageway patching works.

Marine Parade, in Dovercourt, Harwich, will be shut from April 21 until April 23, with access only being granted to emergency vehicles and pedestrians.

The closure will be specifically in place from the road’s junction with Kingsway to Fronks Road, which is a distance of roughly 400-metres.

The Essex County Council project will see Essex Highways workers repair the road surface using a patching method.

The engineers will remove parts of the surface around any potholes in the road before replacing them with new patches of road surface.

As a result of the planned roadworks, residents and day-trippers are being told to expect traffic delays to materialise in the area.

An alternative route, however, will be available via Fronks Road, Newton Road, Main Road, High Street, and Kingsway.
