FIREFIGHTERS were put to the test as part of an annual examination which looks at their skills.
Dovercourt’s on-call crew had their core skills assurance programme on Tuesday.
Abilities tested included vehicle stabilisation, glass management, and manual handling of cutting gear.
Casualty extrication and general scene safety were two other scenarios they were tested on.
A spokesperson for Dovercourt’s Fire Brigade said: “We have to be ready for every eventuality, especially when it’s time critical.
“We are recruiting on-call firefighters. If you live or work within five minutes of our fire station, you could be paid to protect your community as an on-call firefighter.”
