A NEW housing development in Seaford is set to open its doors to the public.

Bellway is officially launching Seaford Grange, a collection of houses and apartments being built on the former Newlands School site off Eastbourne Road.

Construction work is now underway at the development, which will feature 183 homes, public open space, and a children’s play area.

There will be 137 properties for private sale and 46 affordable homes available for local people through rent or shared ownership.

Newlands School closed over five years ago and Bellway’s plans to redevelop the vacant site were approved by Lewes District Council early last year.

Mark Harrop, sales director for Bellway Kent, said: “With construction work progressing well on site, we are pleased to announce we will soon be launching our new Seaford Grange development.

“After a year in which we have had to restrict visitor numbers to our developments in line with Government guidance, we are looking forward to hosting a launch event at Seaford Grange for interested buyers.

“There will be an opportunity for prospective purchasers to speak face-to-face with our sales advisors and to explore the new four-bedroom showhome which has been designed with the help of pupils from nearby Chyngton Primary School, as well as a three-bedroom viewhome.

“Seaford Grange will offer buyers the very best of town and country living.

"The development is conveniently situated just over a mile from the town centre, while Seaford Beach and Seven Sisters Country Park are also within easy reach. Residents will also benefit from being just off the A259, ideal for those commuting to Brighton or Eastbourne.

“There will be a wide mix of properties for buyers to choose from, including one and two-bedroom apartments, and two, three and four-bedroom houses.”
