SCHOOL pupils were delighted by a visit from a theatre company who aim to boost reading among children.
Manningtree based company Grand Theatre of Lemmings visited Wix and Wrabness Primary School to show off its miniature library last week as a pre-half term surprise.
Actors also shared George The Bookworm, a creative learning project which got pupils excited.
Mandy Rose, of the theatre, said: “George is a regular visitor to the school and he popped in to launch his new book of limericks.
“But, as usual, when George arrives anything can happen.
“With comedy, mayhem and, of course, lots and lots of reading a great day was had by all.”
The Grand Theatre of Lemmings itself began as a touring performing company in 1984 looking to share vibrant shows with inventive themes and engaging stories.
Today its work embraces heritage, education and community projects in north Essex.
